The Police Department is the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays backbone of Police services to the City of Holden. A total of 11 officers are assigned to the Patrol Division including the Chief.

The Patrolman is responsible for providing police services.  This may include any of the following: crime prevention, crime detection, traffic services, investigation of offenses, investigation of traffic accidents.

As a small city police department, one officer may carry out several duties on the job compared to the larger city police departments.
